You're gunna miss this

Well, we are now three days away from the year twenty eleven. How crazy is that? My graduating year, the year I thought about three years ago when I first stepped onto that big campus, scared to death. I look back on my high school years and I wonder where the time went..so many people warned me how fast these four years would go. But honestly, I never believed them. I always thought four years?! That's going to take forever! Now it is about 5 months from when I step on that stage and shake the principles hand, and turn the tassel. It's like changing into a whole new life. I couldn't be more ready for it..but I couldn't be more nervous.

I can't picture myself sitting in a room that is not mine, without my parents down the hall, and my brother coming in my room just to pick on me. But then again, I picture what my dorm will look like over and over again. I can't wait to share those amazing experiences with my future roommate. (Yay! :)) As we embark on so many adventures, have lazy days, blast our music, and live carefree. I'm living my world that I've known for so long & trading it for one that I've never ever experienced. I'm ready. So so ready.

As I move into this New Year, I want to make the most of my final days as a Senior. Because everything that I've been taking advantage of and been taking for granted, won't come so easily in the upcoming months. Although I don't fully know what's ahead of me.. I know that that's the beauty of it. It's in the hands of someone so much greater than mine. God's paving the way and making sure I'm as ready as I'll ever be. He's bringing new people into my life that will serve such a great purpose. Here's today's entry of "My Princess.." It sort of goes with what I'm blogging about, of course :)

My Princess-

Walk the road to life.

There will always be two roads before you, My love. The popular road is easy, its bumps worn smooth by the wandering crowds. This road appears safe simply because so many have already ventured around its curves and shuffled down into its valleys. What the crowds don't understand is that this road is filled with regret, and guilt, and it ultimately leads to death. This is the road that leads away from Me, your King. If you find yourself on the wrong path, don't lose heart-just cry out to Me and I will find you. I won't join you on this destructive detour, but I will lead you back to the road that leads to life again-the road your feet were created to walk on. Throughout My word you will find signposts that will give you wisdom and direction. So keep reading and walking, My Princess, and you will begin to discover the real joy of the journey of life.

Love,

Your King and the Way, the Truth, and the Life

Don't worry about anything besides the present, the past is the past, and future will be taken care of for you. :)

Even the best fall down sometimes

I woke up thinking today wasn't going to be a good day. I didn't have a good night last night & I let that carry over into this morning. Luckily, I snapped myself out of it and reminded myself that not everyday can be good ones, but there IS good in everyday. You just have to look for it. So I decided that I'm going to make today extraordinary. Even by laying on the couch, watching movies, talking, and eating with my best friend will be the best medicine. Then, I read my book that I mentioned in a previous post.."My Princess.." and God totally had me read this letter today for a reason.

My Princess-
See what matters most.

I have so much to show you, My precious. I know you see the troubles of this world, and they sometimes overwhelm you. So come to Me, and I will take you to the mountaintop. I will open your spirtual eyes so that you may see an eternal view of what matters most. Keep your eyes on Me and in My world, and you will see My hand at work in everything around you. Remember, My Princess, the eyes of the world are on you, so show them who I am by keeping your eyes fixed on Me and My eternal plan for people.

Love,

Your King and Giver of sight

This book is utterly fantastic. It gives me such great insight & I can't help but share it with the world. Honestly, I believe that we're supposed to be happy no matter what and also pour that happiness onto someone else. Try to find the good in today, even if it seems too dark to think that. You honestly may be thinking to yourself "Wow, she's way too peppy and optimistic. Some days you just gotta cry and be mompy." WHICH I totally agree with. Some days you do just have to cry. But then again, finding the simplest thing such as a strangers smile, a warm compliment, time with friends, etc can be just what you need to find the light. So be happy today :)

Tangled

Okay, I had a wonderful day today spent with my lovely mother. We went to see Tangled and it was honestly the perfect Disney movie. It had adventure, comedy, bad guys, romance, inspiration, etc. It was just fantastic. I was fully involved in the movie the whole time..which is sometimes hard to do in these new Disney movies that I haven't grown up with. Of course, some parts were rather cheesy but it was so cute none-the-less :)

There was a part in the movie that I fell in LOVE with. I don't know if you've seen it yet (if you haven't..go see it, now!) but it is when Eugene (Flynn) and Rapunzel are in the boat looking up at the sky as hundreds and hundreds of lanterns are lifted into the sky. One of my favorite things is looking up at the sky and seeing stars, or in this case..lights. I'm obsessed with twinkly lights and that may sound strange but I can't help it. Haha. Anyway, in this scene they talk about how it has been Rapunzel's dream to see these lanterns fill up the sky. She was worried that it won't be all that she had been expecting it to be, or if it is..how she will handle it. And Eugene says that she will find a new dream. I LOVE that. I don't know why but it is just amazing. Haha. This movie was seriously adorable and definitely worthy of either seeing it again, or even buying it.

It makes me feel like a little kid again, like going to Disneyland does for me. I just love Disney and how they slip in comedy for all ages, and so much inspiration. To have the hope, excitement, and imagination that I did when I was 5 would be absolutely wonderful. Life is too short not to act like a kid every once in a while right?!

What makes YOU feel like a little kid again? :)

My Princess

So many times I think us girls look at ourselves in the mirror and see something wrong with our face, our hair, or our body. We get this mental picture in our head of how we're supposed to look and if we don't see it, we get frustrated & upset..we end up spending way too much time staring at ourselves thinking about what we could change, and how we could look better. But what myself, and so many other girls don't realize is we're God's masterpiece. For us to critique what He worked so long on and purposely made us look the way we do must be insulting to Him. I'm currently reading "His Princess: Love Letter from Your King" by Sheri Rose Shepherd (it is a MUST read..absolutely amazing.) And I came across this letter and couldn't help but blog about it..

My Princess-
You are my masterpiece.
I love what I have created. I am delighted in you!
Don't ever feel insecure about what you think you
you are not, because I made you in my image and
your uniqueness is a gift from Me. I did not give
you a life, My love, for you to squeeze into a man-
made mold. You are royalty, but you won't discover
that truth by gazing into a mirror. Let ME be your mirror
and I will reflect back to you your true beauty. The more
you gaze at Me, the more you will see my workmanship
in you. The sooner you see yourself for who you really are,
the sooner you can begin your reign as My priceless
princess with a purpose.
Love,
Your Kind and your Creator

Wasn't that amazing?! And doesn't it make you feel BEAUTIFUL?
Cause you are :)

Dreaming

Dreaming. Seems like such a simple thing meaning a couple of different things. There are dreams that you have when you sleep, the kind you have when you're awake, and the dreams you have when you want to enter a different world. I often have dreams that I don't want to wake up from..it's as if everything is so much better in this world than in the reality when you wake up. But I've somehow managed to see so much light around me in the simplest of ways. Like being so close to making my decision on where I'll be for the next four years of my life..I've never been more ready to start my life, have new adventures, create amazing friendships, step out of my comfort zone, and see just what God has in store for me. He works in such crazy ways and has a plan for me. For the first time in my life, this plan He has for me is SO very clear. He is laying out stepping stones and telling me to trust Him. It is SUCH a powerful thing and I'm so blessed!

This morning I had woken up from such a spectacular dream. I was with so many people that mean the most to me just having a good time in a beautiful place. This may sound so simple, but it is so much more than just hanging out with friends. Something about this dream made me want to fall asleep and keep living it. I don't know why, but I feel like this connects to my life right now. I've been so caught up in leaving this place and meeting new people. When in reality, I have so many people ALL over the United States to turn to, and they're only a phone call away. Ahh, it's just an amazing thing.

All I gotta say is..keep dreaming. While you're sleeping, and when you're awake. Because miracles happen everyday..believe that.

New Beginnings

I started this blog so long ago, and I really wanna keep going with it. I don't know why I don't because blogging is the best way to get your feelings out without anyone really judging you..cause I don't think many people read this. BUT, it's fun.

Sooo it's almost the end of 2010 (last time I wrote it was just beginning, how sad.) But I'm just as thankful now as I was then. I've gone through a lot, of course, but I'm finally finding out who I am and who I want to me as I make the infamous, crazy, exciting, scary, nerve racking decision on where to attend college next year. I'm ready to take that step..so so very ready.

I'm promising myself that I will write on this more often from here on out. I just need to. Ya know? I think I'll start with how WONDERFUL today was.. :)

-I finally got to see Madeline after far too long.

-We exchanged Christmas gifts.

-I LOVE mine, thank you Mad! :)

-We had so many good talks...which always happens.

-We went to the movies (which was interesting, I wouldn't reccomend seeing How Do You Know..just an opinion)

-We went to one of my favorite restaurants..Panera.

-A good family friend of Madeline's got engaged tonight...ah I love love.

-The wonderfully blissfully cold weather that is amongst us.

I could go on..but I'll stop for tonight. I'll start posting my ramblings on FB, but I'll keep it to myself for now. If you are reading, thanks for stopping by :)

God Bless!

Living in the Past

I feel like I do this a lot. Live in the past. It's something that I really want to work on. I can't seem to NOT live in the past when it was such an amazing one. I mean the friendships, experiences, the people..EVERYTHING was just amazing. This summer, for example, was probably the best summer of my life. Scratch that...it was the best summer of my life. And I make references to it alll the time. I'm sorry if I've done it around you a lot, I can't help it. But anyway, this summer was when I was happiest, strongest and all around the best I think I could possibly be. It was hard work and sooo exhausting but I overcame all of it and I can thank God for that. I want more out of life than going to school and living day by day how I want it. I know I want to serve and be serving all the time and I can do that in simple ways I just have to put my mind to it. My goal for this year is to live in the amazing moment God has graced me with. Because although this summer may have been the best, I can make today just as amazing. I wanna be the person I was this summer. And I don't wanna look back, just move forward. If you're reading this, then you can help me achieve this.

Besides that, I wanna stay positve, upbeat, happy and optimistic. Because we are supposed to be joyful always right?

Hope everyone had a great Monday!:)

One day..

I've been thinking about a lot lately. Which is weird because my brain has been totally fried from studying for finals..haha. But anyway, I was thinking about how I'm too forgiving. I know that sounds weird but I really am. I'm forgiving to the point where I keep getting hurt. And I need to think about myself when it comes to friends and relationships and all that..because when I don't, I get walked all over and people are fake towards me. But I decided that I will always forgive no matter what..because thats the right thing to do. I just wont forget about how it hurt me and how in that place I was sad. I'm gunna 'talk' to a few people that have been on my mind that have recently hurt me. There will be no names mentioned but I feel like this will really help, so here I go.....

One day you will realize how much you hurt me, that what you did to me was wrong and selfish, you'll realize how often I was there for you when you were crying and when you were about to give up on everything..I put my life second to yours and I don't think you realize I did that. And I honestly don't know if you ever will. But I loved you. A lot. And it hurts me to know that you'll never be apart of my life again..but somewhere in that, I find peace. Because I know it was meant to be like this. I want you to be happy. And as much as it kills me that you already are, and that you never think about me as much as I think about you..I still want the best for you. So goodluck. Have fun. and live your life. It's time I finally start living mine....

Wooo, that felt GOOD. Hahah. Too bad the people that was directed to will probably never read it. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great week! God bless<3

The Moon is Round

The moon is Round. Every time I say this, I get a puzzled look or a 'are you serious?' look. But, I thought I would tell the story behind it so everyone understood why I say it so often. I know that the moon is round, and full and white. But do you realize that the moon is there every night? Even when you can't see it, or it's a half moon or quarter moon...it's ALWAYS round. No matter what is going on in your life. This summer I heard a story of little girl who had cancer and was laying on her death bed. She kept a journal and every few pages it would say.."The Moon is Round" and her little sister didn't understand why she kept saying that. And even got angry at her sister for not telling her. After a while her sister decided to explain it to her. She said that even when we can't see the moon, it's there. Even though we can't see God, He's there. He's shining down on us..giving us light in the dark. It's an amazing thought to think that no matter what..you have someone to turn to. Someone that will never be able to compare to anyone here. Ah, it gives me chills. Last night I was hanging out with two people who have seriously helped me this year. Madeline and Hannah. I couldn't survive without them. But as I was taking Madeline home, we stepped outside in absolute awe because the stars were absolutely amazing and so bright. We stood there staring up at the sky for a good ten minutes. Those little things in life make a huge difference in mine. I take things for granted so often and I don't know why..I have so much to be thankful for and I get frustrated with myself when I don't see it. I love life. The good and the bad. The happy and the sad. Things are hard, things are easy..but they are JUST things..and I need to stop fretting about them. Let the chips fall where the may and don't worry about anything. 2010 is starting off great. And I couldn't be more blessed. <3
